reading reflection on the nightfall

My first book that I read this year was called nightfall, the book was about The world has 14 years of sunlight and then 14 years of complete darkness, and the people that lived in Perdedo township had to try and get their boats ready for when the tides turn. The main character in this book is Line, his parents died and him and is his little brother got sent to their grandfathers so that he could take care of them.
Line and his brother where getting mistreated by their grandfather so they left and got their own house which left Line all by himself to look after his seven-year-old brother. :)

NIGHTFALL

Today I read a book called Nightfall and the Authors name is Jake Halpern. So far the name of the story suits the book because already the nightfall has almost begun, there is a main character called lain and he is the hero of the story. the tides have turned wich means that the people will have to leave the island and move with the sun or the thing hiding in the dark will hunt them down and kill them

4js run comes to a end

this year we did an every morning activity that involved a lot of running mental grit and fitness.
but that is what I loved about it, also when I do the run I can recognize every corner that we run around which is a big motivator as it helps me know where I am and tells me if I have run faster. the 4js run is a massive part of my fitness, it helps me do better in a sport like rugby league and other sports that I play like touch. to me, the 4js run will be something I miss most about paroa school, it has helped me in so many ways but mostly my fitness. the run can also be a competition with your friends by seeing who has the best time, for me my competition would have to be Declyn as he pushes me to go faster and faster. I also hated the run at the start of the year but as you do it more your attitude gets better and better and better, you feel so good when you get a personal best time but that comes to an end after today which is the worst thing I have ever had say, my only fitness throughout the year has vanished off the fase of the earth for me that's gonna be a massive drop-in fitness for the next seniors to come
into this class and it sucks that they won't get to experience what we got in the 4js run, things like finishing the run with your best time getting motivated by you friends getting the rushing adrenalin
once you finish making you want to do even more fitness, to me that sounds like opening a Christmas
present and getting really happy and pumped with adrenalin to get outside and test out the new thing that I got. but that all disappears after today

I think that some of the teachers should go on strike mostly kumara school.
Because of the fact that there is only 35 kids in the school, greymain should not go on stike
because of the fact that there is round about 350 stuidents that makes the pay higher for those teachers.
What I think should happen next is that there should be a pay raise so
that teachers can take care of thair family Well enough.

mining on conservation land should not be banned

Mining on conservation land should not be banned.

My dad has been mining for over 30 years and is very experienced for driving diggers.
and is the whole reason why all of the screens at his work have dirt going through the top, and gold
going out the bottom wich they sell and make money off. which ends up going towards dad's bank
account which helps keep a roof over our head and dinner on the table and also clothing to wear.
Now you just think how hard biffing 30 years of experience away and getting a new job.
That would have to be the hardest think ever in the world, it would take him so long to get used to a
new job that he would have to get and also how long it would take for him to get one.
Mostly because of the fact that he is almost in his fiftys.
People will be looking for someone who is young and fit ready for many things thrown at them.
No matter how strong and experienced dad may be they will still not listen to him so if I were you
I would stop trying to get rid of mining on conservation lands because it wont just be my dad in trouble
there will be many many many others aswell.

NYLD 2018

Paroa School's student leaders ventured over to Christchurch for the National Young Leaders Conference earlier this week. It sounds like they learnt heaps and are energised to make a real impact on our school. Thank you to Miss Boulding for organising and Trish for driving!
